Romans 1:18 -3:20

Week 2 Oct 15th. Romans 1:18 to 3:20

Revd Andrew Stewart makes the link between the first talk and the problem that Paul describes.

"I have a problem and so do you..."

You can listen again to Andrew's talk here

If you prefer, you can read his sermon here.

The memory verse is Romans 3. v9

"What then? Are we any better off? No, not at all; for we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under the power of sin."

Our vicar Chris, suggested that he was fortunate to be the "good cop" for the third talk (22nd October) after Andrew's "bad cop" talk!

St Paul pulls no punches, as he makes clear that we all have a problem - we are estranged from God but none of us can see it...

A couple questions to contemplate could be -

"How do you see yourself estranged from God?

How do you feel about / react to Paul's explanation of being estranged?"

Now don't feel bewildered or alone after this passage. Week 3 starts to open out how there is a solution for all. You'll not want to miss that.

(Whet your appetite for Andrew's talk as he links Allan's opening words with week 2.  watch Andrew here.)
