Romans 5

Oct 29th.

Revd Allan Brown presented Paul's challenges to us.

Are we in "Adam" or in "Christ"? Asking the question - who's slave are we? Leading to Amazing Grace.

Our memory verse is

ROMANS 5.1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can read Allan's talk here, and the Powerpoint that Allan refers to is here.

Or if you prefer, grab a hot drink and settle down to listen again to Allan's sermon

Here are some questions you can pray through and discuss with friends.

1. Do you agree with Paul that humanity is divided into two groups: those in Adam and those in Christ?

2.      What do you think it means to be “in Adam”?

3.      If you are a Christian, how did you come to be “in Christ”?

4.      Do you agree that “you cannot have the peace of God unless you first have peace with God”?

5.      Do you agree with Paul that suffering is a necessary part of the Christian life? Why or why not?

6.      What does the word “hope” mean to you?

7.      What reasons does Paul give that Christians have a hope that “does not disappoint us”?
